一群青少年在加利福尼亚州的拉斯阿尔马斯（Las Almas），去了一个被遗弃的小屋，度过了一个愉快的夏季周末。20年前，一所高中班的孩子们被打死了。。近未来，科学家研发出可以窥探人类脑中世界的MRI扫描器。借助该扫描仪的帮助，警方可以从死者临终前看到的影像中追查线索。名为科学警察研究所法医第九研究室的机关，正是运用MRI扫描技术的经营机关。作为“第九”室长的警视正薪 刚（生田斗真 饰），曾经见过堪称地狱般的罪犯之脑。这一天，新人研究员青木一行（冈田将生 饰）被分配到“第九”，他很快就接触到一桩诡异的案件。某个男子因涉嫌杀害全家而被判处死刑，薪刚和青木一行对死刑犯露口浩一（椎名桔平 饰）的大脑研究时意外发现，灭门案中失踪的女儿露口绢子（织田梨沙 饰）居然挥舞着利刃刺向家人。以此为契机，连锁事件接连发生，甚至指向了“第九”的禁忌之地——贝沼事件，当初薪刚的好友铃木（松坂桃李 饰）以生命为贝沼事件画上血淋淋的句号，而今黑暗的秘密逐渐浮出水面…… 本片根据清水玲子于1999—2012期间连载的同名漫画改编。。A lonely tow-truck driver gets caught in a deadly struggle between a pair of bank robbers with a beautiful hostage, local cops, and a monster that has come down from the Arizona mountains to eat human flesh.
