天恒集团董事长周天成，走访下属子公司，强盛集团的项目，却发现强盛集团赵世雄之子赵凯，在项目上偷工减料，视人命如草芥。就在周天成大发雷霆，赵世雄试图掩盖儿子错误之际，一通电话告知，周天成的儿子周然，在向女友求婚的时候，居然被赵凯打了……。该剧主要通过讲述一个生活在社会底层的中年男人——下岗职工陈立正的苦难和坚强，加以亲情，感情和生活的元素，通过描写围绕这个人物身边的人和事，希望唤醒人们心中渐渐麻木的诚信、责任、廉耻和悲悯意识。。A group of young offenders are delivered to an island for a week of character building exercises after one of their fellow inmates commits suicide..
