A film about existence, on the boundaries between...。猫仔(林国雄饰)与大猫(冼林旭饰)两兄弟，大猫性爱女色；猫仔凶狠阴毒。二人在港，不务正业，终因犯罪入狱。狱中有积犯七叔(罗烈饰)乃黑社会大哥，对猫仔蛊惑和顽强之性格颇为赏识，将之收入门下。左轮泰探长(陈观泰饰)服务警界多年，为人机智，手段强硬，被誉为罪恶克星。当年猫仔兄弟亦是被他拘捕入狱。猫仔兄弟刑满出狱，猫仔欲思报复……。镰仓的“日晷馆”是女主人乡田万喜子（水野久美饰）女儿千贺子（真野响子饰）经营的民宿，日晷馆里，有四个心怀鬼胎的客人，有每晚徘徊在天花板上偷窥客人秘密的神秘身影，还有神秘的宝藏传说。无意间目击到杀人未遂的明智小五郎（北大路欣也饰）混入了日晷馆，迎接他的，是消失的凶器、封闭的密室、神秘偷窥者以及妄语般的藏宝诗，他该如何解开谜团，又该如何斩断惨剧的连环……。
